The Philadelphia Flyers made a big move on Jan. 30, trading Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to the Calgary Flames. The pair had been in the rumor mill for quite some time, and now they are each getting fresh starts in Calgary.

The Flyers are rebuilding and expected to be sellers this season, so they may not be done yet. Thus, let’s review two Flyers who could potentially be traded next.

Rasmus Ristolainen

Rasmus Ristolainen has been the subject of trade speculation all season, and this should only continue as we inch closer to March 7. Contenders looking for help on the right side of their defense could express interest in the 30-year-old blueliner.

Ristolainen has appeared in 53 games this season with the Flyers, posting two goals, 15 points, 83 hits, and 84 blocks. If the Flyers are willing to retain a portion of his $5.1 million salary until the end of 2026-27, they could get a good return if they decide to move him.

Scott Laughton

Similar to Ristolainen, Laughton has created discussion in the rumor mill this season. The Flyers are not actively shopping the veteran center, but he has reportedly generated interest. It is not too surprising, as he is an impactful two-way forward who plays with an edge. This could make him an excellent addition for a contender.

Laughton carries an affordable $3 million cap hit until the end of next season, which adds to his value. The Flyers don’t need to force a move, but if a team is willing to pay a lot to acquire Laughton, it is fair to wonder if they would consider it.
