Penn State lands freshman All-American O-lineman in portal

Penn State’s assault on the transfer portal continues to be paying dividends..especially at key positions.

Today, the Nittany Lions landed yet another O-line recruit, this time a freshman All-American. Texas State’s Brock Riker has committed to the Nittany Lions after not being heavily sought after coming out of high school. In the class of 2025, Riker only received offers from the likes of Arkansas State, North Texas, and Texas State, while no one on the Power Four paid him much mind.

However, after a stellar redshirt freshman season with the Bobcats, Riker got tons of offers once he hit the portal. As soon as he entered on January 2nd, teams such as Alabama, Oklahoma, and Illinois tossed their hats into the ring for his services. However, it is said that a recent visit to State College sealed the deal for Riker and his commitment to the Nittany Lions.

After not playing at all in his true freshman season, Riker shined as a center for Texas State this year, logging 868 snaps at the position. He was one of the biggest parts to Texas State’s O-line being one of the best units in the Group of Five.

He was the sixth best interior O-line prospect in the portal and considered a huge portal win for Matt Campbell and the Nittany Lions.
