Matt Stafford’s 1st TD vs. Panthers put him atop Rams’ history books

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had an incredible regular season, leading the league in passing yards (4,707) and touchdowns (46), which was good enough to earn him All-Pro honors.

Stafford’s 46 passing touchdowns was also a Rams’ single-season record, and against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, he moved himself up the list of touchdown passers in franchise history.

Entering the wild-card matchup, Stafford had thrown 15 passing touchdowns in seven postseason games with the Rams, which put him tied for first with Kurt Warner. However, with Stafford hitting Puka Nacua for a 14-yard score in the first quarter, he now stands alone atop the franchise record books.

Los Angeles will need Stafford to keep up the effort if they want to make a run this postseason.
