Penn State adds another Iowa State transfer

Penn State’s roster overhaul continues to welcome players familiar with head coach Matt Campbell. Penn State received another transfer portal commitment from Campbell’s former program, Iowa State, opn Sunday with a commitment from defensive back Jeremiah Cooper.

Cooper is coming off an injury-riddled 2025 season but has been a star player for the Cyclones in previous years. Cooper was a first-team All-Big 12 player in 2023 and received an honorable mention for All-Big 12 recognition in 2024. Cooper will have one final year of eligibility upon his arrival.

Among the defensive secondary players on their way out are safety Dejuan Lane (Tennessee), Kolin Dinkins (Temple), and King Mack (NC State). There are also a number of players still sitting in the transfer portal: cornerbacks A.J. Harris and Kenny Woseley Jr., and safety Lamont Payne Jr.

The NCAA transfer window closes this Friday, Jan. 16.
