Denver Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham has proven himself to be a capable backup here in Denver. Stidham was originally signed by the Broncos in 2023, to backup then-quarterback Russell Wilson. After the Broncos benched Wilson at the end of 2023 and drafted Bo Nix in 2024, Stidham found himself in a competition for the starting job.
Stidham ultimately lost the competition to Nix, but he has continued to stay intimately involved in the game planning with head coach Sean Payton and Nix. “He’s ready,” said Payton after the game on Saturday night.

Stidham’s most recent appearances came in the 2025 preseason, where he played in two games, and started one. Stidham finished 30-of-38 for 376 yards with four touchdowns, no interceptions and two sacks.
Payton clearly believes Stidham is a starting-caliber quarterback for several teams across the NFL, and thinks Stidham could lead the Broncos to a victory against the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game next weekend.
And now, for your viewing pleasure, we give you Jarrett Stidham highlights:
Stidham will lead the Broncos into a Sunday battle with their old foe, and the team that originally drafted him, the Patriots, on Jan. 25. Denver’s considered a home underdog going into the AFC title game.
