Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams wants his second shot at the Seattle Seahawks. After he only caught a one-yard touchdown on eight targets against Seattle in Week 11, Adams missed the Rams’ second regular-season match with the Seahawks in Week 16 with a hamstring injury.
Not playing in that game “crushed” him, Adams told Rams team reporter Stu Jackson, and left him feeling “helpless” as he watched from the sidelines. The Rams dominated the Seahawks for nearly four full quarters before losing in a devastating overtime battle.

“Yeah, I mean, it crushed me,” Adams said. “Anytime if I’m in the game and I can’t affect it, or if I’m not able to play in the game at all, it’s just that helplessness. That type of feeling is not a good feeling as a receiver, especially one that has been relied on a lot in the past to be able to put things together and ultimately get you where you want to be as a team.
“So just watching, it was tough, especially in the red zone, seeing us kind of struggle the first couple of drives there, getting points, and knowing what I’ve been able to do, just feeling like I could have changed that. So it’s a great team, and obviously we did a great job on offense and put up some unbelievable numbers and all of that. But just my presence out there, I always feel like I can help, whether it’s making a play or just affecting the coverage or whatever it is. It’s exciting to be able to get another crack at it.”
Adams returned from his three-game injury for the Rams’ first playoff game against the Carolina Panthers, where he caught five passes for 72 scoreless yards. He then caught two passes for 24 yards against the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round.
While he didn’t score or put up huge numbers in either game, Adams made some huge catches late in each game to help propel the Rams to victory: He caught two receptions for 16 yards on the game-winning drive against the Panthers and then hauled in a tremendous sideline reception in the Rams’ game-winning overtime drive against the Bears.

Now, Adams is ready for the NFC title game — something he hasn’t played in since 2017 when the Green Bay Packers lost to the Atlanta Falcons. Adams is hoping that he and his new team can get over the hump and make the Super Bowl for the first time in the receiver’s career.
“We’re close,” Adams said. “We just got to finish it off.”
