Michigan State picks up commitment from elite goaltending prospect

Michigan State hockey has made yet another major splash in the recruiting world, attracting another first round draft pick to enter the fold in East Lansing. This time, the draft pick comes at a high position of value.

Goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen has made his commitment to the Spartans. A 2006 born player, Ravensbergen plays for the Prince George Cougars in the WHL. A 6-foot-5, 180 pounder, he has compiled a 78-26-5 record with a 2.75 goals against average and a .907 save percentage in 118 career games in the WHL. He was selected to Canada’s World Juniors team this past year.

A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Ravensbergen was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks. It would be anticipated that he fills the vacancy Trey Augustine will leave after this season.
