So what did an experienced professional like Logan Paulsen see watching some film on the Washington Commanders’ newest pass rusher, Odafe Oweh?
Paulsen, who played 120 NFL regular-season games in his eight-year career, sat down with Grant Paulsen on the latest edition of the “Take Command” podcast, and here is a portion of what Paulsen communicated after some film study on Oweh.

“I was kinda unsure of what the film would show, especially from this last year. I’m gonna be quite honest, I am not going to mince words. I was kind of blown away with what I saw in terms of film. I saw a guy who is an athletic freak. He’s a big dude. He is 6-5, 257, at least that is what he measured at the Combine.”
“He has 34 1/2 inch arms which is kind of perfect for the edge rusher position. It was cool to watch him develop this year, mature as a pass rusher, from other times when I had watched him. He’s got this nice cross-chop where he is able to attack the outside shoulder of the (offensive) tackle.”
“He’s got a spin move, the length and the power come to the forefront for me a little bit when you are watching the film. The other thing that I think he did a great job of was how stout he was against the run. He’s physical, man. He’s got these long arms, he plays with great strength. He can snatch guys down.”

“It really reminds me of Danielle Hunter, when I played him early in his career as a rookie. He was good, but he hadn’t really quite figured it out. These traits that you are seeing from Odafe Oweh, I think he is kind of on the precipice of something really special.”
I think you are paying him off of one year and maybe people are going to say that’s a little premature. But after watching the film? I was like, Dude, if he can do this here in Washington, he’s worth every penny.”
It’s safe to say, Paulsen is a big fan of Oweh.
