Trick Williams pulled off the win in his WrestleMania debut Sunday at WrestleMania 42 Night 2 in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. After defeating Sami Zayn with his patented Trick Shot, Williams will now begin his reign as WWE’s new United States Champion.
Zayn remained a sudden pseudo-heel in the eyes of the crowd for this one. From his entrance to his early offensive success, the Las Vegas faithful weren’t having it with Zayn.

Williams, however, gained loud cheers as he started rattling off moves, though he was met with his first scare after running into a boot and getting hit with a Blue Thunder Bomb that resulted in a two-count.
Celebrity antics weren’t done after Saturday’s Night 1 main event, as rapper Lil Yachty returned once again to be in Williams’ corner. He tried to aid his friend midway through the match until Zayn took the rapper out with an attack from behind, sending Yachty crashing into the barricade and having Zayn embrace the heel role he’s been forced into by the fans’ rejection.
Williams then ate a nasty Brainbuster on the apron before a Helluva Kick connected to Williams’ chin. The referee started to count while Zayn waited in the ring, but Williams made it back in at nine.
Zayn lined up a Helluva Kick with Williams still reeling in the corner, but Yachty returned to attack Zayn while the referee was distracted with Williams.

Williams then landed a Trick Shot, but it couldn’t get the job done. A second followed, as Zayn rolled it up and hit an Exploder in the corner. He wanted another Helluva Kick, but ran into another Trick Shot, giving Williams the win to become the new U.S. Champion.
