Penguins President Of Business Operations Steps Down

There will be an opening in the Pittsburgh Penguins front office, as long-time employee Kevin Acklin will step down as President of Business Operations at the end of the season.

The Harvard University graduate joined the organization as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in November 2018. Within two years, he earned the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel position.

In June 2022, Acklin became the President of Business Operations, a role that he will step away from after three years, releasing this statement:

The Pittsburgh native announced his resignation a week after the Fenway Sports Group went public with their desire to sell a minority share of the franchise.

More details will follow as the Penguins look for a new President of Business Operations and continue to seek minority owners for their franchise, which hasn’t played a postseason game since 2022 or won the Stanley Cup since 2017.
