Nayanthara and Kavin-starrer Hi is slated to release in theatres on August 28, 2026. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s former assistant director Vishnu Edavan, the film marks his directorial debut. Ahead of the film’s release next week, the makers have unveiled a cute trailer.

The 2-minute-and-48-second-long trailer for Hi begins with the story of Mayilsamy, a young man who is unlucky in love and marriage. Desperate to find a match, he crosses paths with Devayani, only for more chaos to follow.

As Mayilsamy falls for Devayani, he faces yet another rejection, especially because she is an unconventional woman. However, due to a difficult situation in their lives, the two are forced to marry each other, even though their love story is one-sided. Whether the hopeless romantic manages to finally find love in his life is explored in the movie.
With Nayanthara and Kavin as the co-leads, the movie also features late actor Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, and Radikaa Sarathkumar in key roles. Initially announced for release in mid-August, the film was pushed back by a week and will hit the screens on August 28.
Nayanthara’s work front
Nayanthara will next be seen in the Yash starrer action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film is set in a stylised underworld and follows Raya, whose actions begin to lead to his own downfall with the arrival of his son, Ticket.
Apart from Yash and Nayanthara, the film features Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth in co-lead roles. Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, Amit Tiwari, and several others also play key roles.
Toxic is a Kannada-English bilingual film that will also be released in multiple Indian languages. It is slated to hit theatres on August 26, 2026, with the makers having recently unveiled the English trailer.
Moreover, the actress has films such as Dear Students and Mookuthi Amman 2 awaiting release. She is also set to play the co-lead in Salman Khan’s upcoming movie with director Vamshi Paidipally.
