Despite receiving heavy interest from both the Giants and Raiders, Stafford and the Rams were able to come to terms on a reworked deal to keep the veteran gunslinger in Los Angeles.
Reports from around the Combine Friday pointed towards Big Blue facing a bit of an uphill battle despite putting their best foot forward in discussions with Stafford.
GM Joe Schoen will now have to look elsewhere to secure his man under center, and according to SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes, multiple sources at the Combine expect him to turn his attention towards potentially moving up to the top pick in the NFL Draft.

The Giants and Raiders have discussed two-year contracts with Stafford that include between $90 million and $100 million guaranteed, reports Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Per The Athletic, the Rams are meeting with Stafford at their facility on Friday, and a decision regarding his future is expected soon.
SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes reported early Friday that if the Giants don’t get Stafford, it won’t be because they didn’t “exhaust their means.”
Hughes added that most people he spoke with felt the Giants had ground to make up if they wanted to land Stafford, with the Raiders and Rams currently viewed as the two more likely outcomes.

The Giants met with Stafford and his reps the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, according to numerous reports.
It’s still unknown if Los Angeles would actually move on from Stafford as the two sides try to work out a new deal, but they did grant him permission to speak with other teams to gauge his market value.
The 37-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current deal, is said to be seeking a new contract worth at least $50 million per year.
Multiple teams told SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes that they feel Stafford won’t actually be traded, but Hughes feels that shouldn’t stop Schoen and the Giants from taking a big swing — as long as the asking price is reasonable.
Stafford is coming off a season in which he guided the Rams to an NFC West title while throwing for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns.
