The Buffalo Sabres made a big trade on March 7. They traded Dylan Cozens, Dennis Gilbert, and a 2026 second-round pick to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker.
It was no secret that the Sabres were looking to shake up their group, and they certainly have with this splash. Norris is now expected to be a key part of the Sabres’ top six moving forward, while Bernard-Docker will look to hit a new level with this change of scenery.
Now that everything is settled, the Sabres have announced each player’s number with the club.
With Zach Benson already sporting No. 9, Norris will be switching to No. 13 with the Sabres. The last player to wear No. 13 on the Sabres was current Rochester Americans forward Lukas Rousek. Norris will also be the 10th player in Sabres history to wear No. 13.
Bernard-Docker, on the other hand, will wear No. 24 like he did with the Senators. This is notable, as this was Cozens’ number with the Sabres before being traded. No. 24 is also a very popular number in Sabres history, as Bernard-Docker is now the 27th player to wear it.
