Las Vegas Raiders use Top-30 visit on Quinn Ewers
With the NFL Draft just a few weeks away, former Longhorn Quinn Ewers is busy traveling across the country for Top-30 visits. His latest destination is Las Vegas, where he will meet with the Raiders on Tuesday. Ewers is an intriguing prospect for a team looking to add depth at the quarterback position.
As Ewers continues to tour the country, he is coming off a very good season for the Longhorns. During the 2024 campaign, he completed 293 of his 445 passing attempts for 3,472 yards. He also set a new career-high in touchdown passes with 31. As Texas fell two wins short of a national championship the Carroll High School product was key to their success.
During his time with the Longhorns, Ewers led the program to 27 wins and two playoff appearances. He posted a 21-4 record as a starter, one of the best records in program history. He also finished his college career with at least one touchdown pass in 26 straight games, the longest active streak in thenation. That has made him a popular prospect as teams look to upgrade their offense.
In the upcoming draft, the Raiders have two of the top 40 picks. They currently own the No.7 and No.37 overall picks, both spots where Ewers could still be available. He is not expected to go on day one but could be a very attractive option on day two of the draft.
If Ewers ended up in Las Vegas, he would not have to start right away. Earlier this offseason, the Raiders acquired Geno Smith in a trade from the Seahawks and signed him to a two-year extension. The deal keeps him in Las Vegas through the 2027 season. The former Seahawk would not be a bad person for Ewers to learn from as he adjusts to the NFL.
Leading up to the draft, Ewers will be a player to watch. He still has a little room to grow but has the potential to be a very productive player if teams are patient with him. Ewers will be a very appealing player for teams that are not picking in the top five as they plan for the future.
