Shedeur Sanders won’t be in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the NFL draft’s first round Thursday evening, but he will be having his draft party with the whole Sanders family and Deion Sanders’ house outside Dallas.
In an interview with Overtime from his father’s house, the younger Sanders said both of his parents, who are divorced, will be there, and Sanders thinks his big moment is all that is needed to get them back together.
“My mom and dad are gonna be there, that’s the funniest part,” Sanders said jokingly. “I might not even hug any of them. Nah, I’m playing. I’m going to be hugging them both, and both their heads are gonna hit each other, and they’re going to be like ‘Awww’, then they’re gonna reunite. All it took was just a couple of years of sacrificing, you know, to get drafted, then get them back
Sanders appears to be as cool and calm as ever despite the drama surrounding him throughout the pre-draft process and the anticipation of arguably the most momentous day of his life.
The Colorado quarterback also plans to go all out for the big occasion with his typical flair. While he didn’t reveal the entire outfit, he did give one major hint.
“I’ll have my outfit,” Sanders divulged. “Just a whole lot of ice.”
Sanders completed a tremendous career at Colorado, completing 71.8% of his passes for 7.364 yards, 64 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, all while averaging 8.7 yards per attempt. There are mixed feelings about his draft outlook, but he is a likely first-round pick. The Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and Pittsburgh Steelers seem like Sanders’ most likely destinations.
The NFL draft begins Thursday evening, and we have all the details on how to watch Sanders and Travis Hunter get drafted.
