The 2024-25 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 24-58 as they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season amid a slew of injuries.
The Sixers used a grand total of 30 players throughout the season and an NBA record 53 starting lineups. This series will focus on the 15 players on standard deals and the three on two-way deals to finish the season–not anybody who finished the season on a 10-day deal.
Up next in this series is Jared Butler who was acquired from the Washington Wizards at the deadline in exchange for veteran Reggie Jackson. Butler was on a two-way deal at the time, but the Sixers converted him to a standard deal shortly after to keep him in tow.
Here is a look back at the 28 games Butler played for the Sixers in the 2024-25 season:

Butler’s season overview
Beginning his season with the Wizards, Butler was able to impress enough during his time in Washington to earn a trade to the Sixers and Philadelphia converted his contract. Starting 17 of the 28 games he played after the trade, Butler showed off some impressive point guard work along with showing he can knock down an open 3. He improved as the season wore on with his jumper and the Sixers have to hope he can carry that over to the 2025-26 season. At 24 years old, Butler has some development still to do, but can easily be in coach Nick Nurse’s rotation when the new season rolls around.
Butler’s highlights
Butler’s season high as a Sixer came on April 11 against the Atlanta Hawks when he went for 25 points on 9-for-18 shooting while knocking down four 3s and dishing out seven assists with four rebounds and two steals.
Final grade
The Sixers were looking for Butler to provide some steady point guard play and show something for the future. He did both during the 28 games he played in for them so this was an overall success for the 4-year guard out of Baylor. One has to wonder if he will be given a chance to earn a spot in Nurse’s rotation in 2025-26 after the performance he was able to give.
