We are looking for experienced Linux Engineer to set up the deployment automation stack from scratch. Environment is exclusively bare metal. Salt Stack is used for OS configuration, xCAT – for provisioning. The goal is to migrate to Ansible, Warewulf 4 and GitHub + GitHub Actions.
Most of the team is located in EDT/EST and frequent communication with this time zone is required.
The role is contract-based with the duration estimated to last until November/December 2025.
What we expect:
- Proficiency in Ansible
- Expertise in GitHub actions
- Advanced Linux Administration. Ideally both Ubuntu and RHEL, but RHEL-only will do.
- Good understanding of bare-metal Linux environments ( provisioning / networking / drivers / kernel options / etc )
- Ability to work not only on well-defined tasks, but also look for solutions themselves if problem arise
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2+ proficiency)
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with Salt
- Basic understanding of OS performance optimizations and benchmarking
- Basic understanding of security
