The SEC set a draft record with 79 draft picks in the 2025 NFL draft. No conference had ever had more players selected in a single draft.
A familiar trend continued in the draft. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs once again showcased their talent depth with an impressive 13 players selected, which leads the SEC in selections.
The Big Ten finished with the second-most players drafted, 71, of any conference. The Big Ten and SEC had a significant gap in draft picks over the other Power Four conferences. The ACC had 42 players drafted and the Big 12 had just 31 players drafted.
This strong showing marked the second-highest number of draftees for any Georgia team, just shy of their record-breaking 2022 draft class, which had 15 players drafted. Leading all SEC programs in draft picks, Georgia had a player picked in every round.
The draft’s opening night saw a trio of Georgia defensive standouts hear their names called in the first round: Mykel Williams (No. 11, San Francisco 49ers), Jalon Walker (No. 15, Atlanta Falcons), and Malaki Starks (No. 27, Baltimore Ravens). This marked the third time in four years that Georgia has produced multiple first-round defensive players.
The Georgia offensive line took center stage on the second night, with Tate Ratledge (No. 57, Detroit Lions), Dylan Fairchild (No. 81, Cincinnati Bengals), and Jared Wilson (No. 95, New England Patriots) all being selected. This continued Georgia’s impressive streak of having multiple offensive linemen drafted for the sixth consecutive year.
Saturday proved to be the busiest day for the Bulldogs, with six more players finding their NFL homes. This included offensive weapons Arian Smith (No. 110, New York Jets) and Trevor Etienne (No. 114, Carolina Panthers), followed by defensive picks Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (No. 139, Minnesota Vikings) and Smael Mondon (No. 161, Philadelphia Eagles), who became the sixth Bulldog in four drafts to be picked by the Eagles, bringing their total former Georgia players to eight. Defensive lineman Warren Brinson (No. 198, Green Bay Packers) and safety Dan Jackson (No. 230, Detroit Lions) rounded out the Bulldogs’ impressive draft class.
While not every eligible Bulldog was drafted, several key players, including Nazir Stackhouse, Chaz Chambliss, Xavier Truss, and Benjamin Yurosek signed as undrafted free agents. This 2025 draft class further solidifies Georgia’s status as the top producer of NFL talent, boasting a nation-leading 13 first-round picks since 2022 and an NCAA-best 55 total selections in the last five drafts.
