Dillon Gabriel predicted exact NFL draft selection using bird calls

After a six-year college football career that saw him play for three different schools, Dillon Gabriel is now off to the NFL.

Gabriel, who most recently played for Oregon, was taken by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft last month. That pick came as a bit of a surprise to fans and media at the time, but Gabriel actually predicted it before the draft.

Or, to be more accurate, the birds did.

In a pre-draft video taken in his hometown of Mililani, Hawaii, Gabriel is seen making bird calls. In response, a bird allegedly “told” him that he was going to be picked by the Cleveland Browns with the 94th pick. The next day, the exact prediction came to fruition.

Gabriel was a First Team All-American in 2024, and he tied the FBS record for career touchdown passes with 155. Now, he’s off to Cleveland where he joins a wide-open quarterback battle that also features Shedeur Sanders, who the Browns drafted in the fifth round.

Now, is there a pretty good chance Gabriel heard ahead of time the Browns were targeting him with their third-round pick? Sure.

But we’re choosing to believe he heard it from the birds.
