A Carolina Panthers rookie may have just updated, and perhaps upgraded, his aesthetic.
Before the start of last week’s two-day rookie minicamp, the Panthers officially announced the uniform numbers for their 2025 NFL draft class. Among the freshly-issued digits was No. 76—claimed by fifth-round pick Cam Jackson.
But that number doesn’t seem to be claimed by the 6-foot-6, 328-pound defensive lineman any longer.
Jackson, who has appeared to have exercised his rookie right to change his number, took to Twitter/X on Thursday afternoon and posted the following photo:
The Panthers selected Jackson with the draft’s 140th overall pick back on April 26.
Prior to his jump into the pros, the Haynesville, La. native played his two final collegiate seasons at the University of Florida—where he wore No. 99. Jackson totaled 69 combined tackles for the Gators between 2023 and 2024.
Carolina’s No. 55 has been previously worn by a handful of linebackers, including current president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan.
