Steelers roster battles could mean the end for these four veterans

On June 10, the Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off mandatory minicamp and we expect plenty of position battles. Pittsburgh has multiple spots where key backups could lose their spots to rookies and recently added veterans. Here are the four veterans who need to stay sharp if they don’t want to end up off the 53-man roster.

QB Skylar Thompson

The Steelers will bring four quarterbacks to training camp and if we assume Aaron Rodgers will end up being one of them, Will Howard bumps Thompson from the final 53-man roster.

RB Cordarrelle Patterson

We expected the Steelers to release Cordarrelle Patterson when they signed Kenneth Gainwell but now that Kaleb Johnson is on the team, along with veteran Trey Sermon, Patterson is going to struggle to find a spot on the depth chart.

EDGE Jeremiah Moon

The Steelers brought Moon back but his stay could just be for the Summer after the Steelers got a huge bargain in the fourth round with EDGE Jack Sawyer.

WR Scotty Miller

The Steelers might not have an elite group of receivers, but the addition of rookie Roc Taylor and veteran Robert Woods makes his road to the final roster steep.
