Steelers fans beware, Bleacher Report just blasted Pittsburgh’s 2025 offseason plan of attack.
According to B/R, the Steelers had the second-worst offseason in the NFL — falling behind 30 other NFL teams and having just slightly more success than the New Orleans Saints, who came in last.
The offseason report card grades were based on free agency, trade, and draft acquisitions — and Bleacher Report was far from impressed with the Steelers in all three facets, earning Pittsburgh an overall grade of D.
Here is one argument that B/R made to support the D grade the Steelers received:
“It’s also hard to see Pittsburgh’s roster being markedly better in 2025. Rookies Derrick Harmon, Kaleb Johnson and Jack Sawyer all fit the Steelers culture and can contribute immediately. However, the Steelers essentially replaced Larry Ogunjobi with Harmon, Najee Harris with Johnson and George Pickens with DK Metcalf.”
While it’s easy to criticize the Steelers’ decision to place all their chips on an aging 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers, the acquisitions of Harmon, Johnson, and Metcalf over the departures of Ogunjobi, Harris, and Pickens were definitely in favor of the Steel City.
Should the Steelers have received more credit for their offseason — specifically a strong, defensive-oriented 2025 NFL Draft?
