Paige Bueckers played the best WNBA game of her young career. Just two games into her rookie season, Bueckers has landed herself in the Dallas Wings’ records books.
Bueckers, who is used to the spotlight, being a superstar throughout her college career at the University of Connecticut, appears to be ready to live up to the hype. Bueckers enters the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick from this year’s WNBA draft.
Being the No. 1 pick will forever draw comparisons to Caitlin Clark, as Clark continues to redefine what it means to be the face of the league.
In Bueckers’ first WNBA game on Friday, she struggled offensively, scoring just 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field. Her second game was a different story.
Bueckers went off against the Seattle Storm, dropping 19 points, eight assists, five rebounds, two steals, and one block. According to @statmuse, she made franchise history in the process, as no rookie has ever posted this stat-line in a Wings’ uniform.

The pressure to succeed is real for the Wings’ guard. At just 23 years of age, Bueckers is currently the favorite to win the WNBA Rookie of the Year award at plus-450 (according to FanDuel Sportsbook).
While she played the best game of her professional career on Monday, her Wings are now 0-2 on the season.
Bueckers’ next chance at history will come on Wednesday, when they take on the Minnesota Lynx for the second time this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT inside Target Center.
