The Tennessee Titans made the decision earlier in the offseason to sign Dan Moore and move JC Latham from left to right tackle, and the former first-round pick has responded positively to the move.
A right tackle in college at Alabama, Latham has attacked every aspect of the offseason in preparation for the move. Now, three days into the final days of offseason team activities (OTAs), you can see a massive difference in Latham heading toward year two. During the offseason, he focused on his conditioning and has returned physically looking like a different player.
Speaking with the media after the open practice on Wednesday, Latham discussed his current weight of 337 pounds and his ultimate goal of playing in 2025 at around 325 pounds. This is a vast difference from the high of 365 pounds, which he admits to having reached in 2024.
Not only did Latham address how the weight impacted his game last season, but head coach Brian Callahan also mentioned his weight slowing him down toward the end of the season.
Tennessee needs Latham’s transition back to the right side to go smoothly, after suffering through 2024 with arguably the worst right tackle situation in the NFL. A star in college at the position, he should be able to slide in next to Kevin Zeitler and turn a complete weakness into a strength this season.
