Job Overview

The Senior Android Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Android applications. This role requires deep expertise in Kotlin, a strong understanding of Android architectures, and the ability to deliver responsive, secure, and real-time features for a global user base. You’ll join a small, dynamic, remote team, collaborating closely with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to drive innovation and ensure seamless user experiences. Success in this role means stabilizing and enhancing the codebase, delivering high-quality features under tight deadlines, mentoring junior developers, and resolving technical debt while aligning with strategic project goals. The role is critical in maintaining our position as a leader in cryptocurrency trading by ensuring robust, low-latency, and secure mobile applications.

What will you do:

  • Develop and maintain Android applications
    Build and enhance high-performance Android applications using Kotlin to support billions in trading volume.
  • Implement custom UI components
    Design seamless and responsive user interfaces using custom UI components for an intuitive user experience.
  • Optimize real-time data feeds
    Integrate and optimize real-time data processing with exchange APIs using WebSockets and REST.
  • Leverage modern Android frameworks
    Utilize Jetpack Components and Coroutines to ensure scalable, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
    Work with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to define and ship new features.
  • Ensure app performance and security
    Maintain robust performance, security, and reliability in a high-stakes trading environment.

What we are looking for:

  • Expertise in Android development: 5+ years of professional Android development experience with expert-level proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Strong UI and framework skills: Proven experience building custom UI for Android applications, with expertise in Jetpack Components (e.g., LiveData, ViewModel, Room) and Coroutines.
  • Real-time data and API integration: Strong knowledge of integrating and optimizing real-time data feeds using WebSockets and REST APIs.
  • Deep Android knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mobile architectures, trends, and emerging technologies, with the ability to adapt to evolving platforms.
  • Effective communication and independence: Fluent in English with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional team.
  • Experience with trading: Proven ability and skills of trading, understanding how it works, and development of similar platforms in the past.
