Crowd Size at Day 1 of Dallas Cowboys Training Camp is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
NFL training camp is officially under way for the Dallas Cowboys. As the Cowboys begin to prepare for the 2025 NFL season, tensions are already running high, as arguably their best player enters training camp seeking a long-term contract extension.
All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons, is seeking a contract extension, as he is reportedly seeking to become the highest paid defensive player in NFL history. On another note, Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs, is upset over being fined for not fulfilling offseason workout requirements.
All of these themes come in the midst of Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones' controversial comments from Monday's press conference where he seemed to take unnecessary shots at Parsons as well as his quarterback, Dak Prescott.
As this drama swirls around the team, the Cowboys enter training camp with the hopes of returning to the NFL playoffs after a disappointing 7-10 season in 2024. With the Cowboys players descending on Oxnard, California, to begin that journey on day one of training camp, the fans of "America's team" failed to show up to support their team.
A video, courtesy of Cowboys reporter for The Athletic, Jon Machota, on his official X account, shows the stands practically empty as players can be seen stretching and warming up.

Fans immediately took to social media, to give their reactions to the empty stands at day one of Cowboys training camp.
"Pretty empty? That's MOSTLY empty!" @USASpoonster posted on X.
Another user appears to be tired of (Jerry) Jones doing the same thing every year, "Good. We need to show Jerry this team is not marketable when they keep doing the same things over and over."
Another user, who appears to be a fan of the team, likes this and hopes it gets used as fuel by the team, "Good. Give this team more fuel please. I want this team to be slept on in the worst way so when we the #DALLASCOWBOYS Lay waste to the nfl this year the real ones will appreciate the haters even more."
"Year 29 of NO title will do this. lol," another user said.
"Good. Hopefully the stadium looks like this all season too! Only way Jerry will listen/change is when his pocket book starts hurting lol," one user posted.
Jones decided to go in a new direction with his head coach, hiring Brian Schottenheimer ahead of the 2025 season. Schottenheimer has been with the organization since 2022, first as a coaching analyst and most recently as offensive coordinator.
The Cowboys will kickoff their season against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, on the road, on Thursday, Sept. 4.
