Jam Miller injury update: Kalen DeBoer makes announcement on Alabama RB after Saturday scrimmage

The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a blow in Saturday’s scrimmage. Star running back Jam Miller suffered an upper body injury in Saturday’s scrimmage, head coach Kalen DeBoer announced.

Unfortunately, the injury did require Miller to undergo a procedure on Saturday. The expectation is now that he does fully recover, but there isn’t currently a timetable for his return to action on the field.

“Jam Miller suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday’s scrimmage,” Kalen DeBoer said. “And went in for a procedure on Saturday evening. Jam should recover fully with a timetable for his return yet to be determined.”

Losing Jam Miller is a big blow for the Alabama offense. He was coming into the season as the Crimson Tide’s starting running back, and the expectation was that he’d be able to carry the majority of the load on the ground. Add in a first-year starter at quarterback, and he’s someone who Kalen DeBoer was hoping to be able to lean on.
