Britain Covey signs to the Eagles practice squad

Philadelphia brought back a familiar face, signing WR Britain Covey to the Eagles practice squad ahead of Week 1 vs. the Dallas Cowboys

Britain Covey recently said goodbye to Eagles fans on Instagram after the talented return man agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

After a short stay in Los Angeles, the former Utah star is back, signing with the Eagles’ practice squad.

Last season, Covey suffered a neck injury in Week 13, which was significant enough for the Eagles to place him on injured reserve.

Covey returned to practice before the Super Bowl but wasn’t activated from IR in time to contribute to the blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Jimmy Kempski of The Philly Voice reported that Covey became an unrestricted free agent after the Eagles decided not to tender the wide receiver and return man.

In addition to his efforts as a punt returner, the 27-year-old logged seven catches for 34 yards on eight targets across his five regular-season appearances.
