Former Steelers LB Mark Robinson signs with Patriots’ practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers brought back the majority of their final roster cuts via their practice squad, but one notable player escaped their grasp — LB Mark Robinson.

Two days after the 53-man roster deadline, the New England Patriots reportedly signed Robinson to their practice squad — ending any hope of a return to Pittsburgh.

Selected by the Steelers with the 225th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Robinson wasted little time contributing as a standout special teams player and depth piece on Pittsburgh’s defense.

Robinson now joins former Steelers LB Robert Spillane, who left the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason to sign with the Patriots on a three-year, $33 million deal.

While Robinson’s departure is less than ideal, the Steelers were able to bring back several talented players from their final roster cuts, such as fan-favorite CB Beanie Bishop Jr.
