“Born in Hillingdon, England, on September 30, 2000, Lamptey came through the youth system at Chelsea before moving to Brighton, where over the past five seasons he made 122 appearances across the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, recording five goals and 12 assists.
“The new Viola defender has also earned 11 senior caps for the Ghana national team.”
Fiorentina have started the new season with back-to-back away draws in Serie A against Cagliari and Torino, but have qualified for the league phase of the Conference League, a competition they’ll be playing for the fourth consecutive season.
Lamptey is a versatile full-back who can play on either the left or right flank.
This means he’ll compete with Robin Gosens and Dodo for a starting spot at the Stadio Franchi.
Sources tell Football Italia that the 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Viola.
