Sean McVay hopes Kevin Dotson ‘is OK’

Dotson left the game in the second half with an ankle injury

The injuries piled up in a hurry for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, with offensive players going down left and right. Among the many Rams players who got hurt in the opener against the Houston Texans was Kevin Dotson, the starting right guard.

He went down with an ankle injury in the second half, appearing to get stepped on with 12:33 left in the fourth quarter. He was taken out of the game and evaluated, but he was unable to return. Beaux Limmer, who moved from left guard to right guard, replaced Dotson after filling in for Steve Avila.

Following the 14-9 win, Sean McVay didn’t have much of an update on Dotson, only saying this.

“I hope Kevin Dotson is OK,” McVay said before praising Limmer’s versatility.

McVay will speak to reporters again on Monday, so he’ll likely have more of an update then. It’s unfortunate that Dotson was unable to return, but hopefully it’s nothing serious because he’s arguably the Rams’ best offensive lineman.
