Vikings will not be playing against Bengals’ Joe Burrow in Week 3

The Minnesota Vikings’ defense has been beaten up so far to start the 2025 season. They have been down several key players at various points through the first two weeks of the season, missing Harrison Smith, Blake Cashman, and Andrew Van Ginkel.

However, it isn’t just the Vikings who are getting beaten up, as their upcoming opponents are now dealing with some notable injuries. The biggest being their Week 3 opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Their quarterback, Joe Burrow, suffered a significant turf toe injury that may have resulted in torn ligaments in his foot. The result is he will not only miss their Week 3 matchup with Minnesota, but also significant time for his team as well. That means Justin Jefferson will be seeing his college teammate Ja’Marr Chase on the Bengals receiving passes from Jake Browning, the Bengals’ backup quarterback.

The team has a winning record with Browning under center, but it should be expected that Vikings’ defensive coordinator Brian Flores is not going to make his first start of 2025 an easy one.
