CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens fined for TD celebration in Cowboys win

CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens bonded quickly over the summer both on the field and off, and the superstar duo promised that their Cowboys collaboration would be a big hit once the regular season started.

But following the team’s thrilling Week 2 overtime win in which both wide receivers played a major role, Lamb’s and Pickens’s wallets are taking a big hit, too.

The NFL has levied seven fines against five different players in the latest Cowboys-Giants showdown, one that showcased plenty of the bad blood that the 65-year-old rivalry has always stirred up.

Lamb and Pickens drew two fines each, totaling a combined $55,066. Most of it came for their joint celebration after Pickens’s touchdown catch with under a minute to play. Following the clutch front-pylon grab that put Dallas up 33-30, the pair performed a choreographed move that had them both drawing and firing imaginary guns.

The league fined both players $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct, although no flag was thrown in the moment. The NFL had said it would crack down this season on violent gestures.

Lamb and Pickens first debuted a version of the celebration back in July, just a few days into training camp.

This past Sunday, Pickens got another $14,491 fine tacked on for removing his helmet while still on the field of play after that celebration.

Lamb was socked with another $11,593 for taunting earlier in the game. That second-quarter play was flagged and negated a stunning three Giants penalties committed on the same play.

Additionally, Cowboys tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford caught a $5,370 fine for a leg whip in the fourth quarter.

For the Giants, linebacker Brian Burns was docked $11,593 for a taunting call, and offensive lineman James Hudson’s very bad day will now cost him an additional $12,172 for the head slap he laid on defensive end James Houston. That moment came in the game’s opening drive, when Hudson was flagged a staggering four times and was subsequently benched.
