Some key injury updates for UNC football ahead of Clemson game.
The North Carolina Tar Heels will return from a bye week, hoping to get back into the win column. But standing in their way is an ACC opener against a Clemson team that is struggling as well.
North Carolina enters this game at 2-2 overall with losses to TCU and most recently UCF. Their wins have been against Charlotte and Richmond as they have some big questions coming out of the bye week. One of those questions is who will be the starting quarterback moving forward.
And on Thursday night, the Tar Heels provided an update to starter Gio Lopez. The quarterback left the loss to UCF early after suffering an injury, being replaced by Max Johnson. The ACC availability report listed Lopez as questionable for Saturday’s game.
This is the first availability report for the Tar Heels as the ACC mandates them ahead of conference games.
Joining Lopez on the questionable designation is offensive lineman Aidan Banfield while defensive lineman Pryce Yates is likely to make his season debut as he’s probable. Yates has been dealing with a concussion that has kept him out all year.
