The Jacksonville Jaguars made a pair of roster moves at the tight end position before heading to London for their Week 7 game against the LA Rams.

The team announced on Monday evening that they are signing tight end Jordan Akins to the practice squad and releasing tight end Qadir Ismail as the corresponding move.

Ismail was signed to the practice squad last week after Brenton Strange was placed on IR, and just a few days after Quintin Morris had been signed to the 53-man roster.

Ismail, who is listed at 6-6 – 215 pounds, went undrafted in 2024 out of Samford. He has no career regular-season snaps.

Akins, a third-round pick in 2018, is an experienced player, appearing in 107 games over his career, which includes 36 starts.

Last season with the Browns, Akins caught 40 passes for 390 yards and two touchdowns. Throughout his career, he’s had more snaps as a pass-catcher than as a blocker. Akins brings special teams experience to the Jaguars as well.

Adding Akins comes on the heels of the Jaguars announcing that Morris — and Devin Lloyd — will not be traveling to London for this week’s game due to a groin injury.

That leaves the Jaguars with only Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt on the 53-man roster. Akins and his experience make him a player who can step in right away and provide some needed tight end depth for Sunday’s game.
