Xavier McKinney among top Alabama football NFL Week 9 performances

Could Week 9 potentially be the last time we see some former Alabama Crimson Tide players take the field with their current team?

Week 9 was the final slate of games prior to the NFL Trade Deadline, where some former Alabama players could potentially be on the move having already been included in trade rumors, with some having already been traded.

Taking a look back at this past weekend as well, Week 9 was one of the best yet this season for former Alabama players in the league, with numerous making key impacts in their respective games.

Following are five of Alabama’s biggest impact players from Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season, with Will Reichard, JK Scott, and Brian Robinson Jr. among those who just missed the group.

Xavier McKinney, Safety – Green Bay Packers

McKinney was arguably Alabama’s top defensive performance during Week 9, leading the Packers with nine tackles, three of which were solo, in Green Bay’s 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The safety also finished with one sack, one pass defense, one quarterback hit, and one interception.

Derrick Henry, Running Back – Baltimore Ravens

The former Heisman Trophy winner rushed for 119 yards on 19 carries during Baltimore’s 28-6 win against the Miami Dolphins. Averaging 6.3 yards per carry, Henry also hauled in one reception for two yards, and his longest run of the game went for 35 yards.

Mac Jones, Quarterback – San Francisco 49ers

Despite a fumble, Jones was still impressive in San Francisco’s 34-24 win over the New York Giants. Overall, Jones completed 19-of-24 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns, while also posting a 76.4 QBR and a 135.2 passer rating.

Jordan Battle, Safety – Cincinnati Bengals

Battle led the Bengals with 12 total tackles in Cincinnati’s 47-42 loss to the Chicago Bears. Of those 12 tackles, five were solo.

Josh Jacobs, Running Back – Green Bay Packers

Jacobs rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in Green Bay’s 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The former Alabama running back averaged 5.1 yards per carry, and also had four receptions for 13 yards.
