As coveted 2026 five-star forward McKenna Woliczko signed the dotted line on her National Letter of Intent to officially join Iowa women’s basketball as part of the Hawkeyes’ 2026 class, her father, Aaron Woliczko, shared a heartfelt video commemorating the important moment.
Aaron Woliczko, who serves as the Senior Associate Commissioner for Men’s Basketball and the Sport Administration of the West Coast Conference, has quickly become one of the Hawkeyes’ most vocal supporters.
Since McKenna’s Oct. 1 verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes, the elder Woliczko has been an avid promoter of Iowa athletics and has even been active in recruiting other potential additions, such as fellow 2026 five-star Addison Bjorn.
The 6-foot-2 forward out of Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif., is listed as the No. 6 player nationally by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Woliczko is the country’s No. 2 power forward and the No. 2 player from California.
At Archbishop Mitty, she averaged 22.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in her sophomore campaign and was on pace to improve on those numbers in her junior year before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
At the time of injury, she averaged 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the field. Woliczko is expected to make a full recovery and return to play this season for the Monarchs.
Woliczko’s official signing with the Hawkeyes makes her the highest-ranked signee since Caitlin Clark, who was ranked by ESPN as the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 2 point guard in the 2020 recruiting class. Woliczko is also the highest-ranked signee under head coach Jan Jensen.
