The Oklahoma Sooners take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a top 10 matchup with big-time postseason implications. When the two blue bloods take the field, the Sooners will do so without one of the best players in college football.
R Mason Thomas, who injured his quadriceps muscle two weeks ago in Oklahoma’s win over Tennessee, was ruled out for OU’s game against Alabama. Thomas leads the Sooners with 6.5 sacks and is second in tackles for loss with 9.5.

Oklahoma will rely on breakout star Taylor Wein, veteran defensive end Marvin Jones Jr., former five-star Adepoju Adebawore, and four-star Danny Okoye. Oklahoma’s defensive line is a strength of the team, but it’ll need to step up without one of its stars.
The Sooners will also be without cornerback Gentry Williams, who was listed as doubtful on Thursday’s injury report.
Defensive tackle Jayden Jackson, who was a surprise addition on this week’s availability, was ruled a game-time decision with kickoff just around the corner.
On a positive note, Oklahoma will have wide receiver Keontez Lewis available. Despite missing the last three games, Lewis is still fourth on the team in receptions with 19 catches and has 226 yards and two touchdowns. The Sooners haven’t had a consistent third wide receiver with Lewis in and out of the lineup dating back to the Temple game. If he’s available, the Sooners have a more experienced group of pass catchers.
