Sunday’s halftime free-throw contest at Matthew Knight Arena in Oregon featured a woman named “Jennifer Skone,” who put on a performance while raising money for charity.
During halftime break of the Ducks’ 80-55 win over Army, “Skone” would earn $200 for charity for each free-throw she made. Her warm-up try was an airball, not inspiring great confidence that this would be a successful venture. But she quickly got the hang of it and sank 10 in a row to raise over $2,000, according to the Eugene Register-Guard.

There was a catch, of course. This was no random woman — it was Ducks legend and current New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu in disguise.
After the game, Ducks coach Kelly Graves said he was tricked by Ionescu’s disguise and did not realize it was the WNBA star when “Jennifer” introduced herself. Ionescu had texted Graves Sunday morning telling him that she would be unable to attend the game.
“I had no idea who I was talking to,” Graves said. “We love Sabrina. I think that’s really neat.”
Sunday’s appearance wasn’t just a random check-in by Ionescu at her old school. She was in disguise for an upcoming episode of the Amazon TV show “The Undercovers,” which has featured Micah Parsons, Baker Mayfield and Justin Jefferson.

Ionescu played at Oregon from 2016-2020 and was later the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Liberty in the 2020 WNBA draft. Before she became a WNBA champion, four-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Three-Point Shootout Champion, she was the 2020 Naismith College Player of the Year, 2020 AP Player of the Year, two-time John Wooden Award winner, and a three-time Pac-12 Player of the Year, among numerous other honors, during her collegiate career.
