The New England Patriots were looking to claw their way back into Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and they managed to do so with a huge defensive play made by cornerback Marcus Jones in the second quarter.
Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco pump-faked a throw to wide receiver Tee Higgins before trying to check down a pass to running Tahj Brooks. Jones read the play all the way and jumped out in front of the pass for an interception that he took 33 yards to the house.

Jones has been one of the Patriots’ best defensive playmakers throughout the season, and he came through at a moment when the offense was getting off to a sluggish start.
The Patriots are down multiple defensive players, including Milton Williams and Jahlani Tavai. Veteran defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga even went down with an injury.
The team will have to continue to make up for the injuries on the front end by performing even better in the secondary.
