Colts TE Tyler Warren sets new franchise record in Week 16

Indianapolis Colts’ tight end Tyler Warren has set a new franchise record in Week 16.

Against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football, Warren set the franchise record for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end.

The previous record was held by Hall of Famer John Mackey, who totaled 726 receiving yards as a rookie.

Warren entered Week 16 ranked fourth among all tight ends in receiving yards with 718. He has four receiving touchdowns as well.

Along with Warren’s production in the passing game, he has brought a do-it-all presence to the Colts’ offense.

With Warren’s ability to contribute in the run game and line up all over the formation, he can wear a variety of hats, which brings a level of unpredictability to the offense and provides Shane Steichen with added flexibility as a play caller.

This not only opens up opportunities for Warren but for his teammates as well.
