The Georgia Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart are looking to improve their pass rush this offseason. Georgia is expected to host Tennessee Volunteers transfer pass rusher Caleb Herring.
Herring has 35 career games of experience and posted four sacks for the Volunteers in 2025. He had the second-most (tied) sacks on Tennessee, but has just one career start. The rising senior also posted 14 tackles and a pair of pass deflections.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pound edge defender is expected to visit Georgia and Miami. He has already visited Mississippi State. Herring played high school football for Riverdale in Tennessee, but is from Newnan, Georgia, so he has some local ties that Georgia could lean on. Miami also has a strong pitch since their College Football Playoff defense has a pair of cornerstone edge rushers in Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor that are both expected to be NFL draft picks.
Herring is ranked as the No. 20 edge defender in the transfer portal and the No. 137 player overall. Herring is a good student and projects as a rotational pass rusher at his new destination.
