After dominating the LeBron James and Luka Doncic-led Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, winning in five games, the Minnesota Timberwolves went ice cold in their opening second-round game.
On Tuesday night, Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves were handed a 99-88 loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. They failed to take a 1-0 series lead despite Steph Curry missing most of the game with a hamstring injury.
After the loss, Edwards was joined by Julius Randle and Naz Reid for a postgame press conference. A reporter kindly pointed out that the Timberwolves have made 12-of-76 3-pointers over the last two games, the worst in league history.
Despite the unfortunate numbers and the loss, both Edwards and Randle found the statistic humorous, laughing and appearing to crack jokes. Reid, on the other hand, did not seem amused.
“He said 12-of-70, (expletive),” Edwards responded with a smile.

With the loss, NBA fans were not pleased with Edwards’ postgame behavior, taking to social media to call him out.
“These three clowns really had the audacity to have a post interview & laughing at their own sorry (expletive) performance as if they just didn’t take that embarrassing L? Michael Jordan could NEVER with the Bulls tbh,” one fan claimed.
“This why they’ll never win a championship, got smacked up without Steph and still couldn’t win,” added another.
“How does he not know that? (Expletive) doesn’t watch film,” wrote a third.
“(EXPLETIVE) IS YOU LAUGHING AT YOU ARE LIKE HALF THOSE MISSED SHOTS ANT,” posted a fourth.
“What are they laughing about it’s not funny,” said a fifth.
“Tf so funny?” asked a sixth.
Edwards finished the Game 1 loss with 23 points on 9-of-22 shooting and 1-of-5 from distance, 14 rebounds and two assists. Over the last two playoff games, the former Georgia star has accounted for 15 of Minnesota’s 76 misses from 3-point range.
The Timberwolves will look to tie the series up in Game 2 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
