Sometimes, we can frame a question here a certain way and get totally different responses. This question, well, it’s rather straightforward.
The Phillies are in the playoffs and likely are getting a first round bye for their efforts. They’ll get to watch two other teams beat up on each other before coming to Philadelphia for a series. Those series, as we’ve seen, can go in some unexpected directions. It leads to this question: is there a specific team you think the Phillies would want to avoid once the NLDS gets started?
It could be not having to deal with the Mets again, it could be avoiding someone like the Diamondbacks, a team that is rather hot at the moment, or someone like the Reds who, if they made it to the NLDS, would have been insanely hot to get there in the first place? They obviously can’t choose their challenger, but we can hope there is someone out there we’d like the Phillies to not have to see.
