GM Monti Ossenfort suggested Paris Johnson and Jonah Williams could be limited in the offseason, but there are no concerns about their knee injuries.
The Arizona Cardinals ended last season with both starting tackles — left tackle Paris Johnson and right tackle Jonah Williams — on injured reserve with knee injuries. The severity of those injuries were never reported and it isn’t known whether they had surgery or simply rehabbed the injuries.
There doesn’t appear to be any concern about their return.
The Cardinals paid Williams a $1.5 million roster bonus last month and $6.5 million of his 2025 salary is guaranteed now.
But both are expected to be ready when it comes to the season, although they might be limited in the offseason program.
“Paris and Jonah are both going through a good offseason,” general manager Monti Ossenfort said at the annual league meeting this past week, according to Darren Urban of the official team site. “We will see in the spring (how much they do), but we don’t have any concerns. We are ready to roll with both those guys.”
The offseason program begins April 22 and OTAs begin at the end of May. Based on that quote from Ossenfort, they probably won’t do too much in the way of on-field work in 11-on-11 drills but should be ready to go by training camp at the end of July.
With Johnson and Williams expected to man the starting jobs and with the return of Kelvin Beachum, who started 12 games last season because of the injuries to the starters, there will be a battle for who is the other tackle they keep on the team in 2025. Last year, Christian Jones, then a rookie drafted in the fifth round, was that guy and even started the season finale at right tackle.
But other guys could be in the mix.
