Atlanta Falcons release former Alabama running back Jase McClellan

According to reports, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Jase McClellan has been released by the Atlanta Falcons.

Announced on Tuesday afternoon, Atlanta released McClellan as part of a corresponding move after the Falcons signed the UFL’s 2025 leading rusher, Jashaun Corbin.

A sixth round pick by Atlanta in the 2024 NFL draft, McClellan spent four seasons at Alabama from 2020-23 where he rushed for a combined 1,981 yards and 18 touchdowns on 355 attempts, a span in which he also hauled in 40 receptions for 409 yards and six more scores.

McClellan’s top season at Alabama was also his 2023 campaign in which he ranked Top 10 in the SEC across every rushing statistical category. As a senior, McClellan rushed for 890 yards and eight touchdowns on 180 attempts.

During his 2024 rookie season in Atlanta, McClellan appeared in only two games for the Falcons, rushing for 32 yards on 13 attempts.
