WINONA – The Beavers have finally notched a mark into the conference win column.
The Bemidji State baseball team dropped three of four in its road series against Winona State on Thursday and Friday but prevented the sweep with a 6-1 win in game three. The victory was BSU’s first in NSIC play this season.
Brandon Lind put together a stellar performance on the mound to help give Bemidji State its lone win, pitching the entire game while allowing just two hits and one run. He tallied 10 strikeouts and issued just two walks.
Beau Thoma and Hunter Hyden each notched two hits for the Beavers. Zach Evenson was also effective in the batter’s box, blasting a home run to right field in the first inning to give BSU an early 2-0 lead.
The Warriors opened the series with a crushing 12-0 win over Bemidji State. BSU kept things closer in game two, but ultimately suffered a 6-5 loss. After following up the close loss with their first conference win, the Beavers capped off the series with a rough 12-1 defeat.
Bemidji State returns to play on April 4, welcoming Sioux Falls to town for a four-game home series.
