Bengals, Tee Higgins agree on monster contract extension

The Cincinnati Bengals and star wide receiver Tee Higgins have agreed on a four-year contract extension worth $115 million

Sunday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reported the news: “Tee gets: 4-years, $115M with the first two years guaranteed — making him the highest paid WR2 in NFL history.”

In the same announcement, Schultz revealed the monster contract extension for Ja’Marr Chase, too.

The Bengals applied a second consecutive franchise tag on Higgins at a roughly $26 million salary cap hit to extend the negotiating window on an extension to mid-July while preventing him from reaching free agency. Reporting quickly after that suggested the Bengals’ structure and guarantees were a point blocking an extension.

A few days into free agency, the narrative around the extensions dramatically shifting, with reporting indicating that Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase were nearing massive contract extensions with the Bengals.

Now, Higgins is extended and that $26 million cap hit gets dramatically reduced for 2025 cap space, too.

Higgins confirmed the report as soon as it went live:
