Blue Jay soccer team drops quarterfinal, back at it Friday – Jamestown Sun

MANDAN — Thursday marked the third-straight time the Jamestown High School boys soccer team had appeared in a NDHSAA State quarterfinal match.

Unlike the first two times, the quarterfinal was a loss for the Blue Jays.

Fargo South shut out the Jays 4-0 in the opening round of the 2025 NDHSAA State Soccer Tournament. Head coach Brandi Harty and her squad will take on Minot in the consolation semifinals at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.

“For 60 minutes the boys played hard and continued to fight,” Harty said. “We struggled to finish our opportunities in the final third. It is very difficult to defend for 80 minutes.”

Caleb Nissen got the scoring started for the Bruins with two goals scored at the 15 and 28 minute marks. Moussa Sanoh got goal No. 3 in the 65th minute off an assist from Prajal Rai. The final goal was ruled an own goal on the Blue Jays.

Jamestown goalkeeper Evan Harty was credited with two saves while Fargo South’s David Robinson earned three.
