Both Packers and Ravens facing uncertainty at QB after Lamar Jackson injured on SNF

The primetime showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night in Week 17 might end up being a battle of backup quarterbacks. Not only is Jordan Love in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury on a helmet-to-helmet hit against the Chicago Bears, but Lamar Jackson exited Sunday night’s loss to the New England Patriots after suffering a back injury.

Jackson was kneed in the back while going to the ground late in the first half. He was replaced by backup Tyler Huntley, who completed 9 of 10 passes for 65 yards the rest of the way. After falling behind 24-13, the Patriots scored 15 straight points in the fourth quarter to shock the Ravens.

According to Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Jackson has a back bruise and will be evaluated this week.

Jackson said he took a pain-killing shot after the injury but could not return. He attempted to throw on the sideline but was in too much pain.

Will he play against the Packers?

“Yeah, that’s the goal,” Jackson said.

Because of the loss and the Steelers’ win over the Detroit Lions earlier Sunday, a loss to the Packers this week would eliminate the Ravens from playoff contention.

Not only are the Packers dealing with Love in concussion protocol, but backup Malik Willis is dealing with a shoulder injury.
